1935: The Earth Moves

On November 1, 1935 a house-rattling earthquake registering 6.2 on the Richter scale rumbles through the region. It is a jolting reminder that faultlines lie deep beneath the Bonnechere and Ottawa River Valleys. Along the Little Bonnechere some sand slumps, a few rocks tumble, but the river keeps rolling along.
