1875: Rock Piles Tell Tales

Settlers needed to clear their fields of rocks before they could till the land or even scatter seed for hay. To this day, rock piles mark where these hardy souls toiled in the wilderness. Lichen-covered and surrounded by trees, these mounds will be visible for hundreds of years to come.
