1700: A Tree Takes a Dive

Roots of a massive white pine become exposed along the sandy shore. With a roar it splashes into the river, where it slowly becomes waterlogged and lodged on the river bottom. Three hundred years later, the pine becomes adorned with fishing lures, as anglers seek fish next to the ancient trunk.
