8000 BCE: A River Runs Through It

Glacial meltwater feeds the Little Bonnechere River for millennia. The river valley takes shape as the current bounces off some landforms and cuts through others. In places the river erodes through solid limestone. It carves away at sandwiched layers of rock and eventually goes underground to form the famous Bonnechere Caves at nearby Eganville.
