1825: Shape Up to Ship Out!

In the decades ahead engineers will build twenty-three dams and eight log slides to improve the Little Bonnechere River for log drives. Dams on narrow tributaries will store spring runoff for one log-floating flush. Dams, booms and slides on the main channel will direct thousands of sticks around rapids such as those at High Falls and Jack Chute.
