1000 BCE: Backing Up a River

The waters of the slimmer, stream-lined Little Bonnechere have been deflected from their course by landforms. In the valley, hills of rocky glacial debris called moraines have backed up the river in several locations to create lakes. We have the moraines to thank for Couchain, Beaverdam, Stevensons and Round Lakes.
